1980’s Zippo Contempo

The Zippo Contempo is a unique and rare butane lighter series introduced in 1985. It was Zippo’s first venture into gas-powered lighters, manufactured in Japan and assembled in the United States. The Contempo line featured 18 models Unlike traditional Zippo models, the Contempo lighters are recognized for having “Japan” stamped on the bottom. Today, the Contempo lighters are considered highly collectible. They are highly sought after by Zippo collectors, especially given the rarity of certain finishes and designs.
