Post WW2, the United States invested heavily in rebuilding the nation of Japan. Part of our involvement in helping rebuild the nation included purchasing their exports.

This is a ~1945-1960 hand painted ceramic table lighter. We believe it was exported to the United States during the post war era to help stimulate the japanese economy.

This table lighter holds a story of post war recovery, and rebuilding relationships between nations.
